About the project

From visible strengths to inclusive employment

ASC SkillsPath addresses a key transition gap: inclusive VET can provide learning opportunities, but competences are not always translated into validated, portable and employer-recognised evidence.

The challenge

Why ASC SkillsPath?

Autistic and neurodivergent learners may have strong vocational and transversal competences that are insufficiently reflected in conventional assessment and recruitment processes. The project therefore moves from deficit-focused judgement toward transparent, strength-oriented competence recognition.

The project response

  • Autism-informed competence framework aligned with VET and labour-market profiles
  • AI-supported assessment-to-improvement mechanism
  • Continuous multimodal skills tracking
  • Micro-credentials and a validated Digital Skills Passport
  • Employer co-design and competence-based matching

Objectives

What ASC SkillsPath aims to achieve

1

Recognise strengths fairly

Develop accessible, low-stress and evidence-based assessment that captures competence through realistic, multimodal tasks.

2

Support individual progression

Use competence gaps to generate targeted support pathways, followed by reassessment and continuous skills tracking.

3

Improve employment transitions

Make competences portable and understandable through micro-credentials, a Skills Passport and employer-aligned matching logic.

Target groups

Who is involved?

Primary target groups

  • Autistic learners and neurodivergent young adults in VET or transition-to-work phases
  • Learners at risk of exclusion because competences remain invisible or do not fit traditional skill profiles

Participants contribute to competence-framework validation, task and interface usability, learning and micro-credential pilots, and final Skills Passport feedback.

Secondary target groups

  • VET providers, trainers and career-guidance professionals
  • Employers, HR managers and internship supervisors
  • Inclusive employment services and policy stakeholders

They co-design competence definitions, validate Skills Passports and matching logic, and test recruitment and translation tools.

European added value

Comparable, portable and transferable

Transnational validation is used to strengthen competence comparability, cross-border portability of micro-credentials, fairness of AI-supported assessment and the transferability of employer tools across different European VET contexts.
